" The GVDSS does not recommend or support various therapies, therapists, doctors, practitioners, etc. The only Board-approved partnership is with the Victoria Conservatory of Music for the Music therapy program. The GVDSS' mission is to be a support system for one another. It is left to individuals and families to determine the best services, therapies, doctors, and therapists for their particular needs and that fit their personal philosophies.

Summer Camping Trip 2017

When: 25-27 August, 2017

Where: Taylor Arm Provinicial Park (Sproat Lake) - Group Camping Site

Details:  GVDSS has reserved a group camping site at Taylor Arm Provinical Park on Sproat Lake for the weekend of 25 August. Members are welcome to camp overnight on Friday and Saturday night (or one of the nights if you choose) or join us at the lake for the day on Saturday, 26 August for some fun at the lake, games, a potluck and songs by the campfire.

Maximum number of overnight campers we can accomodate is 30 on any given night and the maximum number of vehicles is 10.  I have currently paid ahead for 25 campers (15 adults, 5 youth and 5 children - 6 and under). GVDSS is paying the site fee, so overnight campers only need to pay the individual camper fee of $5 per night for adults (16+) and $1 per night for youth 7-15. Children 6 and under are free.

Please contact me at info@gvdss.org if you are interested in camping and let me know which night(s) and how many people in you party (adults, youth and children). I also need to know if you are bringing an RV or tents. I'd like to get firm numbers by 30 June. We can make changes to our reservation without incurring any charges up until mid-July.

Once we know who and how many are coming, we can start organizing some activities, both for overnight and day-trippers and also plan out a potluck supper on Saturday.

Below is some information on the group camping site regulations and facilities.
